A Child's Eye View: A children’s audio tour of Mountshannon

Join us on a journey and, as Kavanagh urged us to see "the newness that was in every stale thing when we looked at it as children". Look out in Mountshannon for QR codes displayed in various sites and listen as the students of Iniscealtra National School describe these locations from their point of view. Be reawakened to the joy and wonder

Fighting Words

Fifth and Sixth class students will encounter writing as a fun and powerful means of self-expression in a Fighting Words workshop facilitated by Development and Outreach Officer, Colm Quearney, Fighting Words Dublin. Students will learn how to harness the power of imagination to create stories with their friends that appeal to them as readers.

Colm will be joined by Fighting Words Clare volunteers in an interactive writing workshop where everyone in the class participates. Together the boys and girls will choose their own setting, plot, characters and dialogue to create an original piece of fiction.

Fighting Words is about using the creative practice of writing and storytelling to empower and strengthen children and teenagers from all backgrounds, to be resilient, creative and successful shapers of their own lives.
