A Portrait of Knockaphort

Bonnie Boyle

Knockaphort Pier

She is a filmmaker from East Clare. Her work falls somewhere between documentary, experimental film and photography. She values the collaborative and unknown path of documentary making. She completed a documentary filmed in the West Bank. The Art of Resistance - The Art of Sumud is an independent production about the extraordinary and defiant people of Palestine. It screened in Cork, Chicago, Limerick and Athlone film festivals and will be screened during Scariff Harbour Festival this year. Anomaly, a short live action drama she directed, is in its final stages of post-production. The project she is working on for Mountshannon Arts Festival this year is A Portrait of Knockaphort, a site-specific exhibition of photographs, film and audio recordings from a local pier - inviting a renewed acquaintance with the world of our senses. Bees, boats, swimmers, saunas, swans, dancers and dandelions all join as welcome participants in this exhibition of photographs, film and audio recordings from a local pier.
