Ailbhe Wheatley

Ailbhe Wheatley is a writer and visual artist from East Clare. She holds a BA in English Literature and an MA in Authorial Illustration. Drawing on practices of yoga, nomadism, and philosophy, her work explores embodiment, identity and interrelationship. Her debut memoir, Sky Ground Sky, was published independently in May 2026.

Sky Ground Sky

Centred around the building of a hand-made cabin beside two silver birch trees, the narrative moves through memory, place, and body, tracing a childhood from East Clare and London to journeys in Southern Europe, Australia, Mexico and Indonesia.
Blending eco-poetry, travel writing, childhood perception and philosophical reflection, the book explores the layered nature of healing, belonging, ancestry, and the constantly shifting ground between past and present.
