Kizomba

Friday 30 May - 5pm

Join experienced international dance teacher Claire O'Meara in a Kizomba beginners workshop followed by social dancing. She will teach simple passada steps to give dancers the confidence to try Kizomba, a family dance originating in Angola, West Africa. Kizomba in kimbundu language means 'a get together or gathering of family and friends', a perfect way to dance your way into the festival weekend.

In this generative poetry workshop, participants will explore ground-breaking and innovative poems.  They will be given a series of prompts and encouraged to write with a sense of ease and playfulness.  Participants will leave with a collection of first drafts which they can use to construct entirely new and exciting poems.
