BOG BODIES

BOG BODIES are a heavy folk outfit, from Ireland, formed by songwriter and archaeologist, Dan Maher.
Their genre-bending, high-energy folk sound is characterised by the interplay of traditional Irish instruments such as the bodhrán, flute, and tenor banjo, with guitars and drums, creating a unique blend of old and new, earthy and electric. Combining the story telling traditions of Irish folk, with the raw intensity of Rock, and a dash of world music for good measure.
Bog Bodies’ songs are charged from the ancient megalithic sites of Ireland and are often political, ethereal and Celtic/Pagan in theme.
The band's name is inspired by the ancient bog bodies that have been discovered in Ireland, which were preserved in peat bogs for centuries, giving them an eerie and mysterious aura. This fascination with the ancient and mystical is a recurring theme in the band's music, which is infused with the spirit of the land and the stories of its people.
Their debut album “Reclaim the Ritual” is out now and available to stream on all digital music sites or purchased through the website.
“Bog Bodies underline the depth of contemporary trad talent.” - Hotpress Magazine 2022.

Caoivín

Caoivín (pronounced "kwee-veen") is a producer, singer and multi-instrumentalist fusing the worlds of trad and modern dance music. Born into a musical family, he began playing traditional music at the tender age of 5 and spent the majority of his early childhood summers travelling to and from various different fleadhs and music weeks. Following a spate of powerful experiences on the dancefloors of clubs and festivals in his late teens and early twenties, he began to develop an interest in a wide variety of other genres outside of the traditional Irish music realm which led him to discover bands and artists such as DARKSIDE, Four Tet, Tinariwen, Bonobo and Tame Impala to name a few.

The unique sound of Caoivín takes influence from the range of musical styles which the musician has been exploring from that point up until now, while being rooted at the same time to the long unbroken lineage of traditional music on which he was reared

Tau & The Drones of Praise

Tau & The Drones of Praise have announced a headline show at The Grand Social Dublin on Thursday 20 th April in celebration of their critically acclaimed new album ‘Misneach’.The prolific folk-psych band are back in Ireland following a very successful European tour which kicked off on the album’s release last October.

Misneach is the kaleidoscopic third album from Seán Mulrooney and his Ireland meets Berlin ensemble. Recorded mostly in Berlin at Impression Studios by Robbie Moore, who also plays in the main four-piece studio lineup with Mulrooney, Earl Harvin (Tindersticks) and Iain Faulkner (who helmed additional recording in Dublin at Sonic Studios), the album also features Pól Brennan from Clannad and Irish troubadour Damien Dempsey.

Misneach is an album of ecstatic folk-psych that fully embraces the natural world and living ancestry, through joyful experimentation and deeply rooted sonics. An inspired soundscape that echoes eclectic and eccentric atmospheres: traditional Irish folk, outsider pop, global sacred music and drone rock.

For Misneach, Tau and the Drones of Praise started with minimalist drones, but ended upcreating expansive folk pop spirituals for the modern age ... Misneach is a robust Irish word, describing courage, spirit, bravery and fortitude, qualities that are in abundance on this captivating record ... a psychedelic Irish folk record with a huge heart and even bigger soul.
