Amateur Photo Competition 2025

The winner is Franci Corbett

Franci Corbett was chosen by the judge for the following reasons:

1. First and foremost it is a lovely photo to look at, well composed, balanced with a impressive use of colour.

2. The use of the butterfly is clever as it is one of the species that goes through a few stages of evolution in its short life.

Robert Faifield's is a close second, nice image and the stages of evolution are visible.

Commended by the Judge:

The image by Susan Murphy is deserving of a special mention due to the effort the photographer went to compose the photo, getting down low among the flowers and allowing  the viewer to see the stage of development of the species. It is also uses the lovely blue sky as a fitting backdrop.

The entry by Edyta Rice is superb but as the rules of entry state the work must be from amateur photographer's only.

In the junior entries - the image by James Bugler is a great idea, unfortunately the file size makes it difficult to print.
