Community oriented gathering and peaceful sounding-walk focused on listening and being together “as you are”, respectfully yours. Peace sonic rally.

Plan:

Meeting in the front of Iniscealtra school just before ringing of Angelus (5.45pm or so) which will START whole action. Although ringing of Angelus has spiritual signification, here it is used simply as “signal” and for beautiful quality of resonant sounds of metal bell. Scan provided QR code (large flag-like print), play out-loud pre-recorded time-tape (original composition based on recordings of bells created by Slavek) and walk together towards Mountshannon harbour. Anyone may join anytime the sound-walk.

Additionally, feel free to bring also little bells or jingle-bells, walking sticks and shakers. During walk we will make abrupt stops to listen our environment, while being quiet (except for phones playing ever-evolving cacophony of bells). During walk, we may make as much noise we wish, during stops we are listening only. Signal will be communicated clearly in advance.

All together will create ever-changing live soundtrack created by playing acoustic instruments in combination with sounds via many phones (or portable speakers) creating “mass”, sort of “ringing cloud”. We will listen together to all sounds emerging.

Walk will finish in Soundctuary (Mayfly peninsula) in joyful celebration with Musical-Statues-like Dancing mini-event (10 min) suitable for children and adults equally.

I consider all this as one community event, comparable to non-religious pilgrimage, accommodating everyone who would like to participate, including wheelchair users etc.
