Words in Flight is a collaborative project for the 30th Mountshannon Arts Festival that brings together spoken word, community creativity and mural art.

In the lead-up to the festival, poet Dagogo Hart and mural artist Kevin Bohan will work with students in Scariff Community College through a spoken word and poetry workshop. The students’ words and ideas will help shape the creative direction of a new mural created especially for the festival.

During festival week, Kevin Bohan will paint the mural live, giving visitors the opportunity to watch the artwork evolve throughout the festival.

The completed mural will be officially unveiled on Saturday 30 May at 12:30pm, when Dagogo Hart will open the piece with a special spoken word performance, celebrating the voices and creativity that inspired the work.
