Visual Art

Various venues 11 to 3pm

Visual art is a central part of the Mountshannon Arts Festival, with a vibrant mix of established and emerging artists showing work across a range of venues. The exhibitions unfold across Mountshannon, presenting a rich selection of painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, glass and multimedia work as part of the Festival’s FLIGHT theme.

Children Activities

Woodpark Forest 11am

Homes for Gnomes. Once again the gnomes and fairies in Woodpark are looking to renovate their homes. There will be storytelling, face painting and of course hammering!

Belongings by Lisa Joyce

Aistear 11 to 3pm

All are warmly invited to visit Belongings, an exhibition sharing the stories of people who have made a home in County Clare. In the years ahead, migration will become an ever more present part of our social landscape - bringing both enrichment and challenge. This exhibition offers a moment to pause and reflect on the lived experiences of people with intercultural identities who are shaping their lives in rural Ireland today. Free

Artists Live

Aistear 11 to 3pm

Local artists will give you an aperçu of how art comes into being. So come experience the creative processes behind aku, painting, or street art.

Historical Walk and Talk

The walk will last about an hour and a half, covering the village's main street and harbour. It will share Mountshannon's story from its founding as a linen village to the present, offering a blend of history, fun, and fresh air. Free WB

The BOOM Show

Aistear Park - 2pm

Join Mr BOOM and Ringo the parrot in this interactive show full of fun and games. Young and not-so-young are invited to experience the power and energy of nearly 40 different drums being played together as a group.The star of the show…?? Everybody participating! Free with WB

Singing Session

The River Run 2 - 5pm

Like every year, a great session with spirited singers and heartfelt songs. Just voices, solos and lively singalongs in a wide range of styles and colours. Free

Raffle

The River Run - 4pm

Local Interest Literature

Anita’s - 5pm

Join authors M.A. Purcell and Cormac Quinn in a reading and Q&A discussion on their latest book releases. Free with wristband

Beneath My Garden. Through A Portal in Time

St Caimin Catholic Church 7.30pm

An original musical odyssey, time travelling through the crossroads of Irish myth and history. Rock and Irish Traditional music fusion. Performed by musicians from the shores of Lough Derg.
