A Box

And then everything becomes a little bit peculiar... Appearing, disappearing, hiding, turning upside down. The world around her changes and so does she!

Storytelling with Niall de Búrca

Grab your seats and hang on tight… Niall de Búrca is coming to Mountshannon. Niall is a traditional storyteller with a unique style that  appeals to audiences worldwide. As a kid in Galway he listened to tales aplenty. He grew to be a Seanchai who performs and investigates tales in amazing countries like Korea, Romania and Poland. Get ready for stories that will inspire!

Kite-making Workshop

Hall 11 am/ 12pm/ 1pm

Colour, creativity and sky‑high fun! Participants will design and paint their own kites, with water-proof materials supplied. They will be guided by the workshop facilitator Amnat Walayat. €12/ €10 with wristband. Familly ticket €20 with wristband. Irish Sign Language (ISL) at 11am.

The BOOM Show

Join Mr BOOM and Ringo the parrot in this interactive show full of fun and games. Young and not so young are invited to experience the powerand energy of nearly 40 different drums being played together as a group.The star of the show…?? Everybody participating!

Draw a Goldfinch

School 1.30pm or 3.30pm

A fun, engaging one-hour workshop for children introducing Ireland’s native Goldfinch through simple, step-by-step drawing techniques. The session begins with a short warm-up sketching activity, followed by a guided drawing of this colourful bird, inspired by Irish nature and folklore.

Children will learn how to break images down into easy shapes, developing skills in observation, proportion, and sketching, before using colouring pencils to finish their artwork. Gentle storytelling woven throughout the session adds a sense of magic and connection to the natural world. Irish Sign Language (ISL) at 1.30pm

Homes For Gnomes

Gnomes and fairies of Woodpark were delighted with their natural homes from last June! Word has gone around that the children will be back again this year for more house-building. Come and join in the fun; bring anything natural with you—sticks, stones, bark, moss… the gnomes are bound to supply us with more on the day. Face painting, refreshments, storytelling and puppets on the day!
